The Chief Minister said that although Haryana accounts for only 1.3 percent of India’s geographical area, it contributes 3.6 percent to the national GDP. The state is also a major contributor to India’s exports, achieving an export volume of approximately Rs 2.75 lakh crore in 2023–24.Highlighting Haryana’s strength in the textile sector, the Chief Minister said that Haryana is home to over 2,000 textile units and is the second-largest contributor to India’s textile production, providing a strong foundation for the growth of synthetic and specialty textiles. Such actions not only create inconvenience to the general public and pose a potential Law and Order problems.The communication underlines that all field units must be sensitized and remain vigilant, with special attention to be given to sensitive areas and key approach roads. Police authorities have been instructed to take preventive and enforcement measures in a proactive manner to avoid any untoward incidents.The letter further emphasizes coordination between local administration and police to ensure continuous monitoring. In the event of any breach, strict legal action has been directed against those responsible.Two officials of Jind Municipal Council penalised for negligence, ordered to pay compensationThe Haryana Right to Service Commission has taken a strict view of a case involving negligence by officials of the Municipal Council, Jind, in providing services and disregarding clear instructions issued by the State Government. After carefully examining all the facts and circumstances of the matter, the Commission found that the concerned officials failed to act in accordance with the directions issued by the Director, Urban Local Bodies Department, Haryana, on July 4, 2023. These directions had clearly stated that necessary corrections in Property IDs could also be made in unauthorized colonies; however, the “unauthorized” tag must remain.A spokesperson of the Commission stated that it was found that the Clerk and Secretary of the Municipal Council, Jind, ignored the said directions and rejected the applicant’s request, causing unnecessary inconvenience to the applicant. The Commission observed, “A common citizen, who works outside the state, was forced to visit the Municipal Council repeatedly simply because the officials failed to comply with the government’s instructions.”Considering this negligence as serious, the Commission, under Section 17(1)(h) of the Act, held both officials guilty. It imposed a token penalty of Rs 1,000 each and also directed them to pay compensation of Rs 2,500 each (a total of Rs 5,000) to the complainant.The Commission directed the SGRA-cum-DMC, Jind, to deduct Rs 3,500 each from their October 2025 salary and ensure payment in November 2025. A compliance report must be sent to the Commission by November 10, 2025. The Commission has also ordered that the penalty amount be deposited into the State Treasury.The Commission further found that there was an error in the disposal of the first appeal (FGRA) as the appeal did not reach the concerned authority. In this regard, the GM (IT), Urban Local Bodies Department, has been directed to ensure that all services and appeals are properly mapped to the correct authorities (DO, FGRA, SGRA).Lastly, the Commission also cautioned the SGRA-cum-DMC, Jind, for not complying with the instructions dated 04.07.2023 and for failing to provide the applicant an opportunity for a hearing under Section 7 of the Act. However, considering his unconditional apology and the fact that this was his first error, the Commission issued a warning and advised him to remain cautious in the future. The Commission clarified that the names of all officials involved in this matter have been recorded in its database. In the event of any recurrence or negligence in the future, disciplinary action will be recommended against them.Rs. 1014.19 Crore directly transferred to farmers during Haryana’s Kharif Procurement Season 10 Lakh metric tonnes of paddy procured so far from Haryana Mandis Paddy procured from 81,410 farmers registered on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portalDuring the Kharif procurement season 2025-26 in Haryana, payments totaling Rs 1014.19 crore have been directly transferred to farmers’ bank accounts, ensuring timely payment of the Minimum Support Price (MSP).Paddy is being procured from farmers registered on the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” portal. So far, 81,410 farmers across the state have sold paddy through this platform.A spokesperson from the Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department stated today that a total of 13.68 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have arrived at mandis across Haryana. Of this, 5.65 lakh metric tonnes have already been lifted from various district mandis, and a total of 10 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been procured so far.The procurement process is being carried out by the Food and Civil Supplies Department, HAFED, and the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation at state mandis and procurement centers.It is important to note that paddy procurement is done at the MSP fixed by the Government of India, with payments directly credited to farmers’ bank accounts. The government continues to urge farmers to bring their crops to the market only after thorough drying and ensuring they meet the prescribed standards, such as a moisture content of 17 percent.The spokesperson confirmed that state procurement agencies have made adequate arrangements for smooth paddy procurement and expedited lifting. The MSP remains unchanged at Rs 2,389 per quintal as fixed t by the Government of India.Furthermore, ardhatiyas handle the cleaning of paddy brought to the mandis and procurement centers.
