Police have so far confirmed 14 deaths.Darjeeling MP Raju Bista too expressed anguish over the situation, confirming “massive damages,” and assuring he was in touch with relevant authorities. He also directed party workers to mobilize and assist the affected population.“The devastating rain in the past few days has caused massive damages across our region. In the Terai belt, Siliguri, Matigara, Naxalbari and Phansidewa have suffered waterlogging,” Bista wrote.I”n Khoribari, Naxalbari areas, flood like situation prevails.
