The Blue Jays have won 13-7 in Game 2 of the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees.This is the Blue Jays’ second 2025 postseason win against the Yankees. The Jays now have a 2-0 series lead.The two teams were playing at Rogers Centre on Sunday for the second game between Toronto and New York in the MLB playoffs.Blue Jays crush Yankees in Game 2 to take stranglehold on ALDSThe Toronto Blue Jays are one win away from the ALCS.Toronto claimed a 13-7 Game 2 victory over the New York Yankees on Sunday, riding a dominant Trey Yesavage performance and an onslaught of homers to take a 2-0 series lead.Yesavage set a franchise record with 11 strikeouts over 5.1 hitless innings before exiting his post-season debut to a standing ovation.Offensively, the Blue Jays got home runs from Ernie Clement, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Daulton Varsho (x2) and George Springer in the win, setting a new Toronto record for big flies in a playoff game.Guerrero’s blast came in the fourth inning and was the first grand slam by a Blue Jays hitter in the post-season.As has been the case all season, Toronto got production from up and down its lineup. Varsho, batting fifth, went 4-for-5 with four extra-base hits in the win, and Clement, batting sixth, went 3-for-4.The Blue Jays gave back some of their 13-2 lead in the seventh inning, as the Yankees were able to string some hits together against relievers Eric Lauer and Tommy Nance to shrink their deficit to six.However, Mason Fluharty, Louis Varland and Seranthony Domínguez shut down any chance of a late-game comeback, slamming the door for the series lead.Game 3 of the best-of-five series shifts to Yankee Stadium on Tuesday.
