Portland has been the center of attention for the past few days after Donald Trump deployed the national guard sparking protests across the city. Now footage of ICE officers clashing with costumed activists has gone viral online after one officer took it a step too far with one man in an inflatable frog outfit. While attorneys representing the Trump administration have accused protesters of assaulting federal law officers with “rocks, bricks, pepper spray and incendiary devices,” according to OPB.org, conflicting reports suggest that the protests have been relatively mild. Indeed, it does look like the protesters are much more peaceful than the officers deployed to the city. The assault has been labeled as unnecessarily cruel, especially considering the fact that the individual in the costume does not appear to be behaving aggressively or threatening in any way. This is an unusually cruel act from the ICE officer The officer can be seen targeting the air hole at the back of the costume, the only source of oxygen for the person inside. Some on X theorized that this could effectively turn the costume into a sort of gas chamber for the person inside. Not only that, but it could be a health risk as the individual could have possibly choked on the pepper spray with no other way to breath without the airhole at the back. Videos of ICE agents being aggressive is quickly becoming the norm and it’s deeply concerning, but netizens on X are still appalled by the video. “Spraying that hole with a “chemical weapon” is an ASSAULT ..with an intent to do serious harm,” wrote one person, “Such alpha males,” added another individual “they just won a fight against someone in a frog costume.” What happened to the frog costume man? You’ll be pleased to know that the frog person was fine after the incident. A video posted to YouTube by FREEDOMNEWS TV saw the man inside speaking to reporters after the pepper spray attack. “I kinda coughed a little, but that was about it” he told one person who asked him what happened, “it was just a little peppermint taste you know. I’ve tasted spicier.” Once again, it seems ICE has embarrassed itself on video. The video also shows the frog man dancing at the protest as he’s joined by others in similar costumes. When asked why the frog outfit he responded, “I think it’s just to show how absurd this all is.”
