Ghanaian comedian Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr Beautiful, has declared his desire to become President of Ghana.Speaking to Kwame Dadzie in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Mr Beautiful said although he would not mind occupying smaller political positions, his ultimate ambition is the highest office in the land.“I want to become the next President. Who wouldn’t want to be the child of a rich parent.Becoming means it’s a process. I will go through the process to become,” he noted.When asked whether he would consider starting as a Member of Parliament, he said if he has the resources and his constituents believe in him, he will go for it.The actor and comedian added that he is not the type of person who would say the time is not right to hold political office.Last year, Mr Beautiful was appointed as a member of the Government Board of the Creative Arts Agency.According to him, the Board has already held a number of meetings and he is looking forward to greater progress for the sector through their actions.In the meantime, the government has announced the allocation of 20 million Ghana cedis to the Creative Arts Agency to be used as seed funds for the film fund. Another 20 million Ghana cedis has been earmarked for the film sector alone to help develop the industry.Mr Beautiful, who disclosed that he became a card-bearing member of the NDC in 2010, also expressed satisfaction with the current state of Ghana’s economy.
