Marjorie Taylor Greene warns Trump could be the ‘real reason’ Texas Senate seat flips Blue

Wait 5 sec.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has continued her long, sustained swipes against Donald Trump, this time accusing him of ultimately harming Republican interests in the upcoming midterms. The president has been teasing a final GOP endorsement that would end the primaries in Texas, but Greene took issue with the wording the president used. The 2026 Texas Senate race is shaping up to become one of the most hotly contested in the lead-up to November. The issue is that many experts believe this could be a Senate seat that the Democrats stand a very good chance of turning blue. Over on the Democrats’ side, a blocked televised interview by Stephen Colbert couldn’t stop James Talarico from winning his primaries. Since the Democrats have their house in order, Trump also tried to do the same with the MAGA-dominated Republicans. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and John Cornyn’s primary was inconclusive, and now a runoff is going to happen in the next couple of weeks. According to multiple reports, leaders in the GOP have been asking Trump to put his full weight behind Cornyn. Trump finally took to Truth Social to respond to the calls for an official endorsement. The president wrote, “Both John and Ken ran great races, but not good enough. Now, this one must be PERFECT!” He continued, “I will be making my Endorsement soon, and will be asking the candidate that I don’t Endorse to immediately DROP OUT OF THE RACE! Is that fair? We must win in November!!!” Former ally Greene does not think that is fair at all. She took to X to write, “This is wrong and the people of Texas should be able to vote for WHOEVER THEY WANT!!! NOT the candidate Trump demands. People are furious over this and if Trump does this, it could actually be the real reason the Texas Senate seat flips blue. Stealing people’s opportunity to elect their leaders by force will definitely piss off voters and will lead to even more sitting it out.” In the half year since Greene fell out with MAGA, she hasn’t been able to find a single thing she likes about Trump. She’s gone from broadcasting claims that Trump personally tried to push her to stop talking about Jeffrey Epstein to now even questioning whether he truly is “America first” after starting multiple wars in foreign lands — something they all once stood against fiercely. Greene’s issues with Trump have obviously made her an enigmatic figure on the right. In the comments on her post, she had some people supporting her, with one user in particular insisting Texas should choose its own leader, writing, “telling a candidate to drop out of a democratic runoff because you didn’t pick them is wild.” While another user accused Greene of abandoning her own constituents and therefore being unqualified to criticize Trump. The user added, “Sit down and take a long look in the mirror before you discuss the will of the people.” telling a candidate to drop out of a democratic runoff because you didn't pick them is wild. texas has 30 million people. they should get to choose their own senator, not have one assigned— Lucas (@TheLucasToday) March 4, 2026 The people of Georgia voted for you and you abandoned your seat in Congress, therefore you abandoned your constituents.Sit down and take a long look in the mirror before you discuss the will of the people.— Ethan Kelly (@EthanKelly) March 4, 2026 Trump is a very vindictive leader, and it’s beyond doubt that when Greene turned on him, he snatched a considerable amount of her influence in the US. But with her freedom has come open and effective chiding that is doing some of the most harm during Trump’s presidency. It’s a case of a champion celebrating a knockout only to find out the next day that the challenger gave them career-ending rib cracks.
