Ice-T Has Very On-Brand Message For Resident Evil Requiem's Giant Spider

Wait 5 sec.

The big new Resident Evil game, Requiem, features a terrifyingly realistic spider boss that's sending shivers down everyone's spine. Arachnophobes are definitely shaking in their boots, but so, too, is rapper Ice-T, who had some very simple words for a very ugly enemy.Ice-T took to X on March 3 to share his thoughts on the boss. In a post late that evening, he said eight simple words: "Gamer Stuff: Resident Evil 9… F*** that Spider."Those eight words were directed toward Requiem's eight-legged spider menace, the Titan Spinner. A relatively early boss encounter in the NF Building in East Raccoon City, this hairy arachnid is the size of a Hummer and is just as unstoppable. Running away? You almost certainly can't escape since it cornered you in a building. Pumping it with lead? It just shrieks, shrugs the bullets off, and keeps charging you anyway. Trying to hide? Well, you can't because it knows where you are, always. It's not unkillable--nothing is--but it requires patience and persistence to defeat. Get greedy, and you're dead.We can only assume that's what happened to Ice-T for him to send such loving praise to everyone's favorite creepy crawly. At least, that certainly seems to be the case for many other players. IGN reported on March 3 that folks up and down the game's subreddit have been asking for help and worrying about the Titan Spinner encounter, specifically because of arachnophobia. The fears are so palpable that now, there's a Thomas the Tank Engine mod to replace the giant spider--though that doesn't make it any less creepy, since now a cartoon train with an eerie smile is chasing you in a claustrophobic environment. But I guess that's better than a hairy spider that's the size of a family minivan.Choo choo! https://t.co/Ax5AFzhVEk pic.twitter.com/dsZFt2SIBN β€” πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ Ξ›LISTΞR πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ (@xZombieAlix) March 2, 2026Fears of spiders aside, people are still loving Requiem--Ice-T included, who said on March 1 that the stress it induces reminds him of the first Resident Evil game. Requiem had a banger launch weekend on Steam and already sold over 5 million copies, making it the fastest-selling entry in the Resident Evil series to date. We enjoyed it, too, with reviewer Phil Hornshaw scoring it an 8/10 in GameSpot's Resident Evil Requiem Review.Resident Evil Requiem is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
