Watch: Three Maltese Artists To Represent Malta At 2026 Venice Biennale

Arts Council Malta has officially presented the Malta Pavilion for the upcoming 61st International Art Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia.Titled “No Need To Sparkle; Experiments in Love and Revolution,” the pavilion brings together three Maltese artists whose work explores themes of mythology, cinematic illusion and political resistance. The project features artists Adrian Abela, Charlie Cauchi and Raphael Vella, and is curated by Margerita Pulè.According to organisers, the pavilion aims to create a space that challenges certainties and borders on the hallucinatory, where meaning constantly shifts and time appears to revolve.Rather than presenting a triumphant or declarative narrative, the exhibition is described as a reflection of contemporary times, where ideas emerge and dissolve almost instantly.Architecture for the pavilion is being developed by a team including Julian Vassallo and collaborators, helping shape the immersive environment for the exhibition. The Malta Pavilion is commissioned by Arts Council Malta and produced through a collaboration between Unfinished Art Space and R Gallery, with support from several Maltese cultural and commercial partners. The exhibition forms part of the 2026 Venice Biennale, one of the world’s most prestigious international contemporary art events held in Venice.More details about the project are expected to be shared ahead of the Biennale’s opening in 2026.Share with someone who’d be interested! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)•
