Amélie – The Musical will be staged at Teatru Manoel this May, bringing the charm of the beloved French story to Maltese audiences.Produced by Maltese theatre company Revamp Malta and presented at the historic Valletta venue, the show will run from 8th to 17th May 2026.The musical is based on the acclaimed 2001 film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and follows Amélie Poulain, a shy but imaginative young woman who quietly sets out to improve the lives of the people around her while searching for happiness herself.Leading the cast in the title role as Amelie is Christina Despott, joined by Luigi Buhagiar, Paul Portelli, Stephen Oliver, Natassja Chapman, Gianluca Cilia and Lawrence Gray.The stage adaptation features a book by Craig Lucas, with music by Daniel Messé and lyrics by Nathan Tysen.The Maltese production is directed by Dorothy Bezzina with musical direction by Edward Mifsud, promising audiences a whimsical and heartwarming theatrical experience set against the colourful backdrop of Paris.Tag someone you would watch Amélie with!•
