A “strong to severe” weather warning takes effect in the Walt Disney World Resort area on Monday afternoon, affecting visitors at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Springs. The upcoming storm is also expected to impact families visiting Disney’s largest competitor in Central Florida: Universal Orlando Resort. The worst weather conditions are expected mid-afternoon, the busiest time of day at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. Temperatures are expected to feel the coldest between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.Damaging wind gusts between 45mph and 55mph are expected, with a 15% change of gusts exceeding 60 mph. Meteorologists are warning of quarter-sized hail, with a 5% chance of hail reaching one inch or larger.
