This isn’t a CB. This happens all the time in the horse world. However, I don’t blame you one bit for side, eyeing this one because most things in the horse world do not make sense to people outside the horse world. My only experience with the horse world is through my child. This person might be expected to do some kind of labor in exchange for riding this horse, since they’re not a “pro,” but there’s a possibility they won’t. My daughter rides and her horse is boarded at a barn where they have different boarding packages. Hers is the most expensive one at nearly 3K a month. It’s more expensive than the package below it because we’re paying for staff to ride the horse once or twice a week. She rides a few times a week as well, so the amount that they ride the horse is based on how much she’s at the barn. However, it’s a literal service that they’re selling, so offering to do it for free when you’re not a pro isn’t a crazy concept.
