Galaxy S26 starts getting a new update that brings AirDrop support

Earlier today, Samsung announced that it is bringing AirDrop compatibility to Galaxy devices through an upcoming update. Now, that update has started rolling out to the Galaxy S26 series. It is currently available in South Korea and could be released in other countries soon.The new software update for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra is currently rolling out in South Korea with firmware version S94xNKSU1AZCF. This is the second update with the February 2026 security patch, and doesn't use the latest March 2026 patch. It has a download size of over 700MB, and once the update is installed, you can use Quick Share to wirelessly share files with Apple devices via AirDrop. Once the update is downloaded, tap Install now to begin the installation process. The phone will restart during the process.To use AirDrop compatibility through Quick Share, your phone needs to be running Google Play Services version 26.11.**** or later. You can update Google Play Services by navigating to Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > App details in store > Update. You also need to install the latest version (13.8.51.30) of Quick Share via the Galaxy Store.Additionally, Samsung notes that sharing files via Quick Share to AirDrop-enabled devices requires the Apple device’s AirDrop visibility to be set to Everyone.
