The price for airplane tickets is ridiculous at the best of times but imagine paying the costly price for your ticket only to arrive at the airport and be brought to a bus and driven to your destination. Well that is exactly what happened to one woman who was expecting to board an American Airlines flight only to be shoved onto a bus. She shared the ridiculous experience on TikTok. Travel TikToker “@thekennedysimone_” posted the now viral video showing the bus she was put on. In the caption she explains that she thought they were boarding the bus on the tarmac to be driven to their plane. It only dawned on her that something was wrong after the vehicle left the airport and started driving towards her destination. @thekennedysimone_ when you buy a flight from American Airlines but they board you on to a bus on the tarmac so you think they’re driving you to the plane but they just start driving to the destination #traveltok #americanairlines ♬ original sound – foreverhumblemarc96 The distance between the airport and her destination wasn’t too long, as she was only going from South Bend Indiana to O’Hare airport in Chicago. The bus also looks comfortable enough, the real problem is the price she paid for her journey. In another video Kenn states that she paid $431.72 exactly for the privilege of getting to ride a bus for a couple of hours. American Airlines aren’t exactly known for great customer service but this is too far. What a rip-off. American Airlines? More like American Landlines Of course, the people of TikTok found Kenn’s experience to be hilarious as they joked about the situation at her expense. “I’m sorry this is so funny cause wym they drove you to your destination?” Asked one viewer. Others questioned whether she fully read what she was actually buying but Kenn claims it was a last minute flight which she did not book as it was done through her work. However, in the confirmation email it referred to her journey as a flight so why would she have any reason to doubt she was getting a flight? Many admitted that they had no clue that this was a thing that airlines did. Despite this video being the first time many learned that airlines have a land service, (myself included), it’s apparently quite a normal thing as one American Airlines worker claimed that many people come to the airport thinking that they’re getting a flight only to be put on a bus. But if somebody wanted to get a bus why would they choose to go to an airport? Why would they go through all that hassle of getting to the airport and going through TSA only to get a bus which you could likely get from somewhere more convenient and probably much much cheaper? Commenters suggested that Kenn try and get a refund because paying over $400 for a two hour bus ride seemed ridiculous.
