After Iran bombs Qatari natural gas facility, President Trump slams Israeli strikes on Iranian gas refinery, denying reports the attack was coordinated with the White House.By World Israel News StaffPresident Donald Trump openly criticized Israel over airstrikes against Iranian energy facilities, after the Islamic Republic retaliated by striking a natural gas refinery in Qatar. On Wednesday, Israeli warplanes bombed the Assaluyeh processing facilities in Iran’s South Pars gas field, a massive gas reserve that supplies some two-thirds of Iran’s gas production.Multiple Israeli media outlets reported that the strikes were conducted following close coordination with the White House, which approved the attacks in order to pressure Iran to halt its closure of the Strait of Hormuz.Israel Hayom reported that the White House was heavily involved in the planning of the strikes, “down to the last detail,” the report said. After the Assaluyeh bombing, Iranian retaliated by striking Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City, the world’s largest liquid natural gas processing facility in the world. The strike reportedly caused extensive damage to Ras Laffan, drawing condemnation from Qatar, which expelled two Iranian diplomats. However, President Trump appeared to blame Israel for the Iranian attack, distancing the US from the Israeli strikes and vowing that Israel will not target Iranian energy production in the South Pars field in the future.“Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran. A relatively small section of the whole has been hit,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account on Wednesday night.Contradicting reports on the strikes, Trump claimed that the White House had no prior knowledge of the Israeli attacks.“The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen.”“Unfortunately, Iran did not know this, or any of the pertinent facts pertaining to the South Pars attack, and unjustifiably and unfairly attacked a portion of Qatar’s LNG Gas facility.”The president added that while Israel will not strike energy production in South Fars again, the US will if Iran continues to strike Qatar, which Trump dubbed “very innocent.”“NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar – In which instance the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before.”The post Trump blasts Israel over Iran refinery strike, denies US coordination appeared first on World Israel News.
