In suburbia, if you live in a house, you almost 100% will have a 5 gallon jug of gas. The only gas powered thing I have is a lawn mower (and 3 vehicles) so I usually have 1/2 full can, which lasts me a season. We don’t have a large property, but big enough to need a gas powered push mower. At my parents, they have a mower and gas powered weed wacker. They also have a small generator for the random power outages we get (wind? Power out for a day or 2. Snow? Just a couple inches knocks trees down. You sneeze in the wrong direction…you might be out of power for a week.)
