A 37-year-old Maltese man from Pembroke has been arrested in connection with a violent argument that took place inside an entertainment establishment in Paceville early this morning.Police officers on duty in the area were alerted at around 1am after staff reported an altercation between two individuals.Officers immediately entered the establishment, identified the alleged aggressor and placed him under arrest. A small pointed weapon was also safely confiscated to prevent further harm.The other man involved, a 32-year-old Syrian resident of Żabbar, was assisted by officers at the scene after it emerged he had sustained injuries to his neck.A medical team was called to the scene and the victim was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as having suffered serious injuries.Magistrate Dr Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed of the case and has appointed an inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.•
