MAGA Rep demands Iranians pay for the US bombs being dropped on them: ‘we gotta pay for this somehow!’

Wait 5 sec.

Just as everyone predicted, Donald Trump‘s war with Iran is proving a costly and disastrous debacle. Analysts say the bill is growing by roughly half a billion dollars every single day, and has now burned through about $12 billion of taxpayers’ money. By comparison, $12 billion is roughly the annual budget for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And, of course, there’s currently no exit ramp for the United States in this pointless war, with Hegseth reportedly set to ask Congress for $200 billion to continue the slaughter. But don’t worry! MAGA has a genius idea! We’ll just get Iran to pick up the bill for the bombs Trump is dropping on them. As Pennsylvania Congressman Scott Perry explained: Rep. Scott Perry: "I would actually like to see Iran pay for this. Whether it's $20 billion or $200 billion, whatever it is. Look, they've been at war with us for 47 years and it's finally being ended by the president, which is awesome, but it comes at a cost. Look, they’ve been at war with us for 47 years, and it’s finally being ended by the president, which is awesome, but it comes at a cost. They have resources. They have been siphoning those resources away from their population for those four-and-a-half, five decades. And certainly they could could pay that bill pretty quickly.” You have to be faintly impressed at this level of evil stupidity. So, you’re going to bomb a country to dust, kill thousands of people (including an entire elementary school), then hand the country the bill for the bombs you chose to drop on them? “How are we gonna pay for this?!” To the interviewer’s credit, she sounded appropriately bewildered by this, asking, “You want to see whatever this costs the US taxpayer, whatever the Pentagon does come to and ask for to be offset.. by, by Iran?” Perhaps saying a teeny bit too much, Perry replied: “Well we gotta pay for this somehow right? We don’t have endless money! … People like me, who don’t want to bankrupt the country, say ‘how are we gonna pay for this?! What are we gonna do without so we can have this?'” On this, at least, Perry is absolutely right. What is America going to have to do without so these lunatics can destabilize the Middle East? Rural hospitals? Legal aid? Bridges that don’t collapse? Clean drinking water? It’s also worth wondering what they’re going to do if they demand $200 billion from Iran and they say no. What exactly are you going to threaten them with? More bombing to be added to their tab? Let’s just throw this ridiculous idea on the same pile of trash that the plans to get Mexico to pay for the border wall lie in.
