Game of Thrones Arrives in Fortnite With Daenerys, Jon Snow, and the Night King

Wait 5 sec.

Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and the Night King will join Fortnite tonight, as part of a new Game of Thrones crossover. This is the first time that George R.R. Martin's fantasy world has crossed over with Epic Games' battle royale, and it's happening now at the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2: Showdown — the game's latest iteration that's focused on in-game rivalries. Showdown launched yesterday with a swathe of new locations to explore and a battle pass that includes Bugs Bunny and numerous new versions of Fortnite favorites, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's returning character The Foundation and the game's popular Ice King.Showcase of the Game of Thrones set, available tonight! #SponsoredByEpic pic.twitter.com/ueVdYgtvVO— Fortnite News (@Guille_GAG) March 20, 2026 The arrival of Jon, Daenerys and the Night King is well timed, then, fitting with the addition of a large new wintry area ruled over by the battle royale's own icy monarch, as well as the various rivalries between the three Game of Thrones characters. (Alas, there no extra points for pickaxing Dany as Jon.)All three characters arrive in Fortnite's Shop tonight, though their V-Bucks prices are still to be revealed. Alongside the trio of skins you'll be able to purchase a rather menacing-looking Drogon glider (and you can ride on his back!), plus emotes so that your character can sit on the Iron Throne, or call forth fiery baby dragons. Daenerys looks to be wearing her blue dress from Season 4, though there's a further style to add her darker final season cloaked look. Her back bling is a treasure chest full of dragon eggs. Jon Snow has options with or without his fur-trimmed cape, and a clever effect that slowly adds a dusting of wintry snow to his hair and shoulders over time. His back bling is a House Stark shield. The Night King is... the Night King. All three characters have weapons as pickaxes, with Snow wielding Longclaw.Early fan reaction to Showdown seems positive, following last week's upset over Epic Games' eye-opening changes to V-Bucks, Fortnite's lucrative in-game currency. In short, V-Bucks will now cost more and be doled out more sparingly within battle passes, with Fortnite Crew subscribers also taking a hit to their membership's value. Fans had also complained about the recent frequency of crossovers within Fortnite, something today's addition of Game of Thrones characters does not exactly help. Still, Game of Thrones remains a hugely-popular IP — and its characters arrival at some point has felt inevitable, following the slow integration of almost all the franchises previously represented in Warner Bros.' own crossover game Multiversus. With last year's addition of Scooby Doo characters and this season's inclusion of Bugs Bunny, the vast majority of Multiversus' roster is now in Fortnite — though some notable omissions remain. While Fortnite has featured Matrix content before, it's still missing any actual character skins. Tom and Jerry are also yet to appear — though with the Looney Tunes gang now arriving, it also just feels like a matter of time.Image credit: Guille_GAG/Epic Games.Tom Phillips is IGN's News Editor.
