UPDATE: Disney Will Make Unexpected Avengers Campus Change, Effective Next Week

Wait 5 sec.

Disney is making a big change at one version of Avengers Campus next week.As of 2026, Avengers Campus exists at two Disney parks: Disney California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Park (which will rebrand as Disney Adventure World next week). The California version opened in 2021, replacing A Bug’s Land, with Paris following in 2022 as part of a wider park overhaul.Credit: DisneyGuests can experience WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! in California, alongside stunt shows and roaming Marvel heroes. Paris offers Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure, plus regular rooftop performances and character encounters.Despite shared branding, the two lands feel notably different. California skews brighter and more chaotic, while Paris leans into a sleeker Avengers HQ setting. However, both versions of Avengers Campus have received similar critiques, with guests often calling out limited rides, screen-heavy attractions, and a lack of deeper, connected storytelling. An upcoming change at Disney Adventure World seeks to tackle the issue.Credit: Disneyland ParisDisney Confirms Upcoming Avengers Campus ChangeDisney plans to reintroduce a beloved character to Avengers Campus – but this time, he’ll host an interactive show within the Marvel-themed land. The one and only Deadpool is heading back to Disney Adventure World as of March 28. Until July 15, the sardonic anti-hero will judge the dance moves of guests within Avengers Campus. Deadpool will return to Avengers Campus from March 28 to July 15, 2026 with a new happening during which he will be judging your dance moves. During his last stint – which was intended to promote Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) – Deadpool mainly stuck to the rooftops of Avengers Campus, where he often mocked the park’s ongoing renovation and seemingly endless maze of construction walls.Positioning Deadpool at the centre of a live, guest-driven show directly addresses some of Avengers Campus’s biggest criticisms. It shifts the focus away from screens, adds repeatable entertainment, and introduces a looser, more character-led narrative that helps the land feel more reactive and connected. It follows a similar move at California Adventure in 2025, when Story Time with Deadpool returned to the park over the holidays. This featured Deadpool – who sparked some controversy with his more “adult” jokes during his initial run at Disney’s theme parks, including a quip about finding Grindr on Tony Stark’s phone – dressed as Santa Pool to tell festive, funny tales such as “A Visit from Santa Pool,” with Wolverine often at his side.Credit: Disneyland ParisNotably, Deadpool’s return also overlaps with the grand rebranding of Walt Disney Studios Park as Disney Adventure World. The latter will be unveiled on March 29 – one day after Deadpool’s return – and Disney has already warned guests that it expects dense crowds. With very little to do in Avengers Campus (especially when Avengers Assemble: Flight Force has one of its frequent ‘unexpected’ closures), Deadpool’s unique charm gives guests more of a reason to venture away from Disney Adventure World’s new offerings. These new offerings include World of Frozen – which features Frozen Ever After – and Rapionce Tangled Spin. Guests can also look forward to exploring Adventure Bay, which will host the new nighttime spectacular Cascade of Lights, as well as multiple new eateries, such as The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge.Credit: DisneyWill Avengers Campus Eventually Receive an Expansion at Disney Adventure World?Despite the hype surrounding these additions, critics have noted that relatively few new attractions are actually being introduced to the “new park.” Walt Disney Studios Park has long struggled with low ride capacity, and early signs suggest Disney Adventure World may not significantly improve that issue. It also doesn’t help that Frozen Ever After has experienced lengthy downtime during park previews, with viral photos showing visitors lining up outside World of Frozen for significant periods of time. Upcoming visitors have since been warned that they may be unable to ride the attraction when they visit Disney Adventure World.Over in California, Avengers Campus is set to undergo a massive expansion that will double the size of the land. The project will introduce two new attractions — Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab — as part of a wider push to scale up the Marvel presence at the park.Avengers Infinity Defense is positioned as a large-scale “E-ticket” experience, sending guests across multiple worlds to battle a multiverse variant of Thanos alongside a wide roster of Marvel heroes. Stark Flight Lab, meanwhile, takes a more experimental approach, placing riders in robotic pods that simulate flight inside Tony Stark’s workshop — with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Iron Man.Credit: DisneyNo comparable expansion has been announced for Paris. Still, Disney appears aware of the land’s limitations, and recent updates — including new entertainment offerings — suggest a broader effort to address capacity and guest experience, even if larger-scale additions remain unconfirmed. How else do you think Disney could improve Avengers Campus? The post UPDATE: Disney Will Make Unexpected Avengers Campus Change, Effective Next Week appeared first on Inside the Magic.
