Tech tycoon Elon Musk offered Saturday to pay security personnel at US airports during a political standoff over funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). "I would like to offer to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during this funding impasse that is negatively affecting the lives of so many Americans at airports throughout the country," Musk posted on X. The TSA, which operates under the authority of DHS, comprises about 65,000 employees, according to its website.
