Ah God. My mother was like this. "I'm on a fixed budget", "I'm an old lady", etc. It was always embarrassing as hell to witness her whiny performances when I knew she was hoarding money that she claimed was for her golden years. I'd always remind her that she was in her 70s, 80s and 90s and that she was in her golden years, but whatever. And I get it. I'm retired now too and money can get tight, but no one owes you services for free because you're on a fixed budget, elderly, disabled or poor.
