ShareWith injuries to Jarell Quansah and Eberechi Eze, England have brought Ben White and Harvey Barnes into the squad for the March friendlies.Arsenal defender Ben White has received his first England call-up since the 2022 World Cup.White was last picked for the tournament in Qatar but has not been involved in the international set-up since leaving the camp due to personal reasons.The 27-year-old then made himself unavailable for selection under Gareth Southgate but is back in under Thomas Tuchel.He has been named as an injury replacement for Bayer Leverkusen's Jarell Quansah, after he was ruled out with a thigh injury.White, who has made just seven Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season, last played for England in a 3-0 friendly win over Ivory Coast in March 2022.Harvey Barnes is the other replacement named by Tuchel for the upcoming friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.The Newcastle winger has impressed this season, particularly in the Champions League, where he has been directly involved in 10 goals this term (six goals, four assists).He is brought in for Eberechi Eze, who missed Arsenal's EFL Cup final loss to Manchester City on Sunday with a calf injury.Mikel Arteta had confirmed before England's announcement that Eze would be unable to link up with the national team, telling reporters: "He's out. We have to do another scan in six or seven days and wait and see the results. It is a leg injury. His calf."England face Uruguay at Wembley on March 27, before also hosting Japan four days later.
