Five booked after group of men jump wall to trespass into garba venue, thrash organisers in Ahmedabad

By: Express News ServiceAhmedabad | September 29, 2025 12:35 AM IST 2 min readParmar said that he was exiting the venue on Friday night when he noticed several youth trespassing into the party plot by climbing over the boundary wallA group of men, led by five accused, allegedly barged into a garba venue without passes, thrashed organisers and revellers, and vandalised the venue in Bopal area of Ahmedabad City.The incident took place between 11.15 pm and 1.45 am, on the intervening night of September 26 and 27.The FIR was filed later in the morning on September 27, at Sarkhej Police station based on a complaint by Hiteshsinh Dashrathsinh Parmar (33), who runs a restaurant and is one of the organisers of “Ras Ra” garba at Basera party plot in Bopal.Parmar said that he was exiting the venue on Friday night when he noticed several youth trespassing into the party plot by climbing over the boundary wall.The accused confronted the security guards and argued with the staff to allow them entry without passes, it was alleged. When Parmar tried to reason with them, the accused went away but, after some time, returned in a larger group of 15-20 men and forcibly entered the venue, according to the allegations. They also screamed obscenities at the organisers and forced them to put a halt to the garba underway on the premises, said the FIR.The FIR stated that the mob began breaking off sticks used in the decoration and started hitting the people present at the venue. When Parmar tried to intervene, one Pratham Bharwad allegedly hit him on the head with a metal rod. Another accused, Mehul Bharwad, was accused of hitting another organiser, Kishan Solanki, on the head as well. Solanki also suffered a fractured arm.Pratham Bharwad, Suraj Bharwad, Dhiren Bharwad, Ajay Bharwad and Mehul Bharwad were booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 109 (attempt to murder), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 117(2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 189(2) (unlawful assembly), and 191 (rioting), among others.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:Ahmedabad policegarba
