An Israeli military official said that Iran “suffered a severe blow” during the previous round of conflict, and “fully understands” the damage inflicted by the IDF.By World Israel News StaffA senior Israeli military official told Hebrew-language media that Israel is prepared for another round of conflict with Iran, following a 12-day war in June that severely damaged — but did not completely dismantle — Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure. “We are monitoring developments across the Middle East, including events in Iran. Both Israel and Iran are engaged in an arms race and are learning from each other. We are preparing for a range of scenarios, including the possibility that we may once again be required to take action against Iran,” the official told Ma’ariv. The official stressed that “Iran suffered a severe blow from the IDF” during Operation Rising Lion. He added that Tehran is “fully aware of the extent of the damage it sustained, understands its significance, and recognizes Israel’s capabilities.”The remarks come after Iranian military and political figures signaled they are preparing for renewed fighting with Israel, following the collapse of negotiations aimed at a nuclear agreement and the reimposition of broad sanctions against Tehran.“The moment Israel starts a war, we will also enter a war with the United States,” Major General Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, told Iranian state television on Sunday. “Negotiations must not be accepted in any form, at any price, or without conditions,” he added. “If we enter negotiations, military force must in no way be used against Iran. Otherwise, we will retaliate; not only against Israel, but also against American targets in the region.” During Operation Rising Lion, 30 Israeli civilians were killed by Iranian missile attacks targeting civilian areas in the Jewish state. The victims included a Ukrainian child with cancer who had come to Israel for medical treatment, and two Holocaust survivors in their 80s and 90s.The only non-civilian killed during the conflict was an off-duty soldier, who died alongside his mother and girlfriend when an Iranian missile struck their Beersheba apartment building. The post IDF official – ‘Israel ready for renewed conflict with Iran’ appeared first on World Israel News.
