Jonathan Daniel and Jolene Lynn Harms of Boise, Idaho, are accused of distributing a chilling “kill list” that named dozens of individuals, including judges, bankers, former church members, and local officials, with instructions to “go, hunt, kill.” According to prosecutors, the 277-page manifesto threatened to incite violent retribution against people the Harms believed had wronged them after being ousted from their church community. In late July 2025, Boise police began investigating after two individuals, whose identities are now protected, received a document containing threatening language. Jonathan and Jolene were arrested in July, and official charges were filed in September. Court filings reveal that the Harms believed their “religious conviction” justified vengeance against those they saw as betrayers, especially figures within their former church. According to the Idaho Statesman, prosecutors allege that Jonathan and Jolene, 39, were expelled from their church congregation due to doctrinal or behavioral disputes. Boise area law enforcement says the Harms’ threats extended to local authorities. Jolene was arrested separately for telecommunications harassment after investigators uncovered evidence of her threatening messages against an officer’s family. They are also accused of violating multiple protection orders in July, sending threatening communications to individuals already protected by the court. Following initial arrests, law enforcement served a search warrant at Jonathan’s home in Highland Valley, where they believed weapons might be stored. Jonathan reportedly complied with police demands. Bond set at $15 million each In total, Jonathan and Jolene now face around 120 criminal charges, including felony first-degree stalking, felony witness intimidation, and misdemeanor witness intimidation counts. Each of them was arraigned via video in Ada County Court, with a bond set at $15 million each, following the escalation of charges filed in late September 2025. At the hearing, a no-contact order was imposed to keep Jonathan and Jolene from any alleged victims or witnesses. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 6, 2025, before Judge Regan Jameson.
