Samsung has now sent out a statement clarifying that this an “extremely rare case.”Samsung has retrieved the affected device for investigationA spokesperson for Samsung reached out to us with the following statement: “The safety of customers is our top priority. This is an extremely rare case, and we are in direct contact with Mr. Rotar to retrieve the product and learn about the concerns.“Daniel Rotar had shared what happened with his Galaxy Ring on X yesterday and that post has now gone viral with more than 15 million views in just one day. Per his latest update, Samsung provided assistance for the travel disruption he faced due to this issue. The company has also collected the Galaxy Ring from him for further investigation.He does point out that prior to this, the Galaxy Ring's battery had been acting “weird” with excessive battery drain. Several other users have complained about irregular battery drain on the Galaxy Ring, but it's important to note that correlation doesn't equal causation.Samsung will surely get to the bottom of this and provide a more comprehensive reason behind what has transpired.
