A motorcyclist lost his life after colliding with a bridge in Number 68 Village, Corentyne Berbice, on Sunday afternoon.The deceased is Eric Kissoon, 23, of Lot 200 Number 72 Village, Corentyne Berbice.According to reports, around 15:55 hrs, Kissoon was riding motorcycle CN 7562 with two pillion riders: 13-year-old Soohil Thakuradi, a student of Tagore Memorial Secondary School residing at Lot 202 Section B Number 72 Village, and Goomraj Veerasammy, 28, of Lot 43 Number 0 Village, Corentyne Berbice. They were traveling south along the eastern lane of Number 68 Public Road at a high rate of speed.It was noted that Kissoon was unlicensed, and neither he nor his pillion riders were wearing safety helmets. Kissoon lost control of the motorcycle while navigating a right bend and collided with the railing of a bridge on the eastern side of the road, resulting in injuries to all three individuals.They were all transported to Number 75 Regional Hospital, with Kissoon found in an unconscious state, while the pillion riders were semi-conscious. Upon arrival, they were examined by the doctor on duty.Unfortunately, Kissoon succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention.
