Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say four people were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 early Monday morning.Officers were called to the eastbound lanes at Bowmanville Avenue shortly after 12:10 a.m. Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported four individuals to the hospital. The extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.The crash forced a full closure of the eastbound stretch of Highway 401 at Bowmanville Avenue. Police said the highway is expected to remain closed until at least late Monday morning as investigators examine the scene and crews work to clear the roadway.Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and expect significant delays.
