‘Israel is paying my dad’: GOP senator’s daughter exposes his Israel trip as ‘propaganda mission’

A New Mexico state senator is getting criticized in an unusual way. His own daughter has called him out on social media for his recent trip to Israel. Maddie Block (@maddie.block), the 28-year-old daughter of Republican State Senator Jay Block, posted videos on TikTok where she questioned her father’s priorities and said he was spreading propaganda. Senator Jay Block was part of a large group of about 250 state lawmakers who went to Israel in September for the “50 States, One Israel” conference. The Israeli government paid for the trip. During the visit, the lawmakers met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and got briefings on different issues. In her viral TikTok video, Maddie Block shared her concerns about the trip. “I genuinely believe that Israel is like paying my dad now to peddle propaganda because he also posted this like super long tweet that’s like basically dissertation length,” she said in the video. She talked about how her father defended Israel’s military actions in Gaza and played down civilian deaths in his social media posts. What the daughter said about her father’s statements Maddie Block was really critical of what her father said after coming back from Israel. Senator Block had written that if Israel wanted to commit genocide, they would be “sure bad at it” and said that the Israeli Defense Forces do “everything possible to avoid killing Gazan civilians.” He also said that Israel warns civilians before military operations through text messages, phone calls, and leaflets. It was a privilege to be part of the largest diplomatic delegation to ever visit the state of Israel. The 250 state legislators were a contingent of Republicans and Democrats who traveled from every state in America. While in Israel, we visited Jewish, Christian and Muslim holy… pic.twitter.com/7uewEu6RWK— State Senator Jay Block (@ElectJayCBlock) September 21, 2025 His daughter strongly disagreed with these talking points. She called her father and other politicians who went on the trip “loser politicians” and asked why a state-level lawmaker was meeting with a foreign prime minister. “What the f does Netanyahu have to do with any local issues in New Mexico?” she wrote in her video caption. @maddie.block Wtf does Netanyahu have to do with any local issues in New Mexico? Additional points of clarification: My dad is JAY Block, not John Block. Also, r*cist and/or antis*mitic comments will not be tolerated on my videos! #republican #newmexico #democrat #politics #politicstiktok ♬ original sound – Maddie Block The TikTok video got a lot of attention fast, getting over 1.4 million views and more than 250,000 likes. Maddie Block later explained that both Democrats and Republicans went on the delegation. She said she focused on Republicans at first because her father is part of that party. She also made it clear that she does not allow racist or antisemitic comments, saying that criticism of Israel’s government is not the same as antisemitism. The family situation makes this story even more complex. Maddie Block said in comments that she and her father have no contact, partly because of his political views. She has called him “kind of a terrible person” on social media before. This is not the first time a politician’s social media presence has caused controversy. Senator Block replied to his daughter’s criticism by commenting “May God Bless you all” under a reposted version of her video.
