The cast of the upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari — Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf — is in full promotion mode ahead of the film’s release on October 2. As part of their promotional tour, the stars recently appeared at the India Today Conclave for an interview. There they candidly shared their experiences and chemistry on set.Reflecting on their growing camaraderie, Janhvi Kapoor said, “I have realised in the past two days of promotions that we genuinely have a fondness for each other. Our equation is something we truly cherish and enjoy. But as a consequence, I feel like I am just hanging out with my friends — I get too relaxed and end up saying all kinds of rubbish on stage. It’s actually become quite stressful promoting the film with them!”Janhvi went on to praise her co-stars, starting with Rohit Saraf. “I have found such a fun equation with Rohit. He has so much to offer and is such a bright, young talent,” she said.Speaking about her Bawaal co-star Varun Dhawan, she remarked, “It might sound sarcastic, but he’s sort of like my guiding light.” She also appreciated his egalitarian approach on set, adding, “He treats everyone the same, which is so rare in this industry.”The panel took a humorous turn when Rohit Saraf playfully accused Varun of bullying him on set, while also calling Janhvi “the biggest schemer on the planet.”Responding to the charge, Varun shared a prank the duo once attempted. “Janhvi and Rohit tried to prank me by placing fake snakes, scorpions, and lizards in my room. Every day, I would find some weird new thing,” he said. However, the prank didn’t go as planned. “It never panned out,” Janhvi admitted. “Varun’s boy Kumar is so loyal to him that he told him everything in advance. Varun was totally aware and prepared. Pura plan popat ho gaya (the entire plan failed). I am still in a fight with Kumar!”Story continues below this adSSKTK promotion sparks backlash after host asks ‘inappropriate’ questionsHowever, certain aspects of the interview also sparked considerable backlash online. A clip from the session, now circulating widely on platforms like Reddit, has sparked extreme reactions.During the interview, the anchor encouraged the cast to share “cheesy pickup lines” used on them, and at one point, jokingly asked Rohit Saraf to take off his shirt. In one segment, the anchor pressed the stars for outrageous pick-up lines. Varun Dhawan declined to share any and instead directed the question toward Janhvi Kapoor, who also refrained, citing the lines as “inappropriate.” Instead, she referenced a line from a Varun Dhawan film, originally delivered by Akshay Kumar: “Is your father a baker? Because you have great buns.”While Janhvi admitted it was a line she had always wanted to use, she added that doing so might land her “in jail.” The anchor quickly interjected, saying, “That’s not inappropriate.” Janhvi agreed, clarifying, “No, it’s not — but that’s not the line I was originally talking about. Still, I really like it.”What followed, however, made things more uncomfortable. The anchor added: “But that’s a good one to use on you, Janhvi — like, you have got a superb body and you work out. I have seen some of your workout videos, which are great.”Story continues below this adALSO READ | Salman Khan would cry listening to Tere Naam title track after breakup with Aishwarya Rai, says Sameer Anjaan: ‘He would call Himesh Reshammiya, make him sing’Janhvi appeared visibly embarrassed as the anchor encouraged her to “own it.”The exchange continued as Varun Dhawan turned the focus to Rohit Saraf, asking him to share a pick-up line used on him.
