By: Express News ServiceVadodara | September 28, 2025 03:26 AM IST 2 min readAhmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Gandhinagar have been selected as Mentor Cities to guide 20 towns in achieving visible cleanliness by sharing 100-days strategy (X/@mlkhattar)As part of the Swachh Shehar Jodi (SSJ) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA)– a structured mentorship and collaborative action programme involving 72 mentor cities and around 200 mentee cities across the country – Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Gandhinagar have been selected as Mentor Cities to guide 20 towns in achieving visible cleanliness by sharing 100-days strategy.A simultaneous programme of signing the MoUs with mentee cities was held in Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) and Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC). The programme aims to “strengthen sanitation standards under the nationwide rollout of the Swachh Sheher Jodi initiative of Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0”.VMC Commissioner Arun Mahesh Babu and Deputy Mayor Chirag Barot signed MoUs with newly created Surendranagar Municipal Corporation as well as four Municipalities of Savli, Sihor, Jamraval and Limbdi for mentorship while AMC signed the MoUs with the Municipalities of Sanand, Wankaner, Salaya, Mundra and Ranavav.SMC also inked the MoUs with the Municipalities of Mandvi, Palitana, Vallabhipur, Chalala and Savarkundla as its mentees while GMC will mentor the Municipalities of Vadnagar, Jamjodhpur, Maliya, Kutiyana and Sikka.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt Ltd
