(Credit: https://msubaroda.ac.in/)Three faculty members of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda have been recognised in the prestigious Stanford-Elsevier “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list for their achievements throughout their careers.Newly-appointed Vice-Chancellor BM Bhanage, Professors PK Jha of Department of Physics and Anjali Patel of Department of Chemistry have been included in the global ranking that identifies scientists whose research contributions and citations place them among the most influential scholars worldwide, MSU said in a statement on Friday.According to the MSU, V-C Bhanage has 486 research publications in his name while Jha has 436 and Patel has 146. “This achievement underscores the University’s commitment to fostering excellence in research and innovation. The global recognition of its faculty enhances the institution’s academic reputation and inspires future generations of scholars to pursue impactful, high-quality research,” MSU said in a statement. The Stanford/Elsevier ranking is derived from the Scopus database and is recognised internationally as one of the most credible evaluations of research impact. Scientists are assessed using a composite score (c-score) that considers six key citation metrics, including total citations, H-index (author-level metric), and adjusted measures that account for authorship positions. This ensures a balanced evaluation of both the quality and breadth of scholarly contributions.“The list covers 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, recognising scientists who are either among the top 100,000 globally or within the top 2% of their discipline. The current edition reflects data up to October 1 of the previous year, highlighting both career-long and recent citation impacts,” the MSU added.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt Ltd
