The extent of injuries reported to eight people remains unknown.The Southport City, North Carolina officials urged people to avoid the area in an announcement on Facebook. The officials wrote, “There are reports of an active shooter in the Southport Yacht Basin. There is an unknown number of injuries. Avoid the area and remain in your homes.
