Step into a world of delicate wonder as the Malta Society of Arts (MSA) welcomes Nico Conti for his first solo exhibition in Malta, “Reflections on Porcelain”.The exhibition will be running at the charming Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta until Thursday 23rd October.Spread across five cozy gallery rooms, visitors are invited on a magical journey through porcelain. Each room has its own mood- sometimes comforting like a childhood memory, other times mysterious and haunting, showing how this fragile material can tell so many stories.“I always dreamed of having my first solo show in Malta,” Conti shares. “My work has been presented around the world, but here I wanted the people who shaped me to be present – my family, my friends, my teachers. This show is a thank you and a reflection, a way to share what I’ve been exploring with those who matter most.”Porcelain is Conti’s canvas, combining traditional craft with 3D printing magic. “It fascinates me because it is both fragile and strong,” he says. “Before firing it can collapse with the slightest touch, but once fired it becomes resilient, translucent, and can last thousands of years.”The exhibition touches on memory, reflection, and transformation. In the opening room, visitors will spot delicate works tucked behind fluted glass, reminiscent of Conti’s grandmother’s porcelain cabinet. “I wanted to capture a sense of familiarity and distance at the same time,” he explains.Throughout the show, porcelain takes on unexpected forms, glowing and shifting with the light. “Many people only know porcelain from plates or figurines, but here they will see it transformed. The show is about experiences – porcelain can become lace, stone, memory, or light,” says Conti.MSA Acting President Roderick Camilleri says, “We are delighted to host Nico Conti’s first solo exhibition. His creative approach bridges tradition and technology in ways that beautifully align with our mission to support heritage and contemporary art.”Reflections on Porcelain is open Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm and Saturdays 9am to 1pm. Entrance is free, so anyone curious about the magic of porcelain is invited to visit.Tag a friend to go with them to the exhibition View this post on InstagramA post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)•
