‘Poor frog is now homeless’: Woman wonders why plant keeps popping out of pot only to find a froggy surprise under the soil

Wait 5 sec.

A woman on TikTok experienced something very bizarre after noticing her plant kept popping out of its pot. After a thorough investigation she discovered something lurking in the soil underneath which left her and the rest of TikTok with more questions than answers. Laura had been keeping her plant in the house for over a week while trying to figure out what was going on. She thought it may have been her cats just being loveable nuisances but the issue persisted. Eventually she decided the only option was to take the whole thing out and dig around in the dirt to get to the bottom of the mystery.  And get to the bottom she did as Laura quickly discovered the source of her problem after feeling something alive squirming at the bottom of the pot. Taking it outside she began pouring out the rest of the dirt to discover a large amphibian hiding inside. @lauraep32692 Mind you this has been in my house for over a week! I was trying to dig the dirt, stuck my finger in and felt something weird #toad #wtf #plantmom #notmycats #funny ♬ original sound – Laura P_ Frogs end up in the strangest of places. Although according to the TikTok comments this is a toad and not a frog, who am I to question the wisdom of random strangers online? If they say it’s a toad then I guess that’s what it is. What was the toad doing there? Of course, we now know the what, to our question about the plant. But there are now several other more significant questions that need answering, like how did the toad get in there? Or why was the toad in there? One viewer also asked whether he could even breathe under all that dirt. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the little toad is prepared to answer our questions as he hides from Laura and hops back into the pot. So I guess we’ll have to look elsewhere for our answers.  According to a-z-animals.com toads do commonly burrow in the wild. They do this for many reasons be it for safety or to regulate body temperature. They may stay underground for a day or it may be for hibernation during harsh weather conditions, in this case they can stay underground for months. Toads, much like frogs, breathe through their skin so they won’t suffocate under heaps of dirt like we would. This toad likely thought it had found the perfect spot to hide itself only to keep being squashed by a plant and eventually evicted from its cozy little home. But the main question is how did it get in there? With this we can only speculate. Perhaps it found its way into the house and settled for the only bit of soil it could find, or maybe it was scooped up by Laura by accident as she gathered soil for the pot. Who knows?
