The Ministry of Defence has signed a Rs 62,370 crore contract with HAL for 97 Tejas Mk-1A aircraft, the largest-ever order for the indigenous fighter jet. Deliveries will begin in 2027-28, strengthening the IAF's fleet and boosting defence self-reliance.
