The Walt Disney Company is going all-in on The Simpsons after acquiring the decades-old television series during the 2019 merger with 20th Century Fox. On September 29, Deadline reported that the animated family will return to the big screen in 2027, taking over a slot previously held for an untitled Marvel Studios film.Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson first hit the silver screen in 2007 with The Simpsons Movie. It’s likely (though not confirmed) that the movie will star the voice cast of the television series, including Dan Castellaneta as Homer, Yeardley Smith as Lisa, Julie Kavner as Marge, and Nancy Cartwright as Bart, as well as Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer in multiple roles.
