Bulldozers Roll in on Bustling McDonald’s at Disney

Wait 5 sec.

A brand-new McDonald’s is taking shape at one of the busiest Disney shopping and dining districts in the world, and we have the latest images from the construction site. Let’s take a look.McDonald’s and The Walt Disney Company have partnered since the 1980s, starting with the introduction of Disney-themed Happy Meal toys to coincide with different film releases or company celebrations. In the following years, Golden Arches kiosks appeared at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disneyland Park. In the 1990s, Walt Disney World Resort welcomed a full-sized version of the fast food restaurant to its Downtown Disney shopping and dining district (now known as Disney Springs).McDonald’s even sponsored the original DINOSAUR attraction (then known as Countdown to Extinction) at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Walt Disney World Resort let the sponsorship expire in 2008 and removed most traces of the fast food restaurant from the ride. Yellow, white, and red pipes, themed after mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup, remain on the walls in the loading area. The only remaining Golden Arches location on United States Disney Park property is the standalone restaurant near the All-Star Resort hotels at Walt Disney World Resort. However, Disneyland Paris Resort didn’t follow Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort’s lead. Since 1999, McDonald’s has operated a bustling restaurant in Disney Village, the European Disney Resort’s shopping and dining district. The Golden Arches first appeared in France in 1972 and soon became the fast-food company’s second-largest market, making the restaurant a perfect choice for European and American travelers seeking an affordable, quick bite.Credit: DisneyThroughout 2025, Disneyland Paris Resort has been busy constructing a new, multi-story McDonald’s near Lake Disney in Disney Village. The restaurant will replace the original location and feature “an innovative architecture designed exclusively for Disneyland Paris.”On Monday, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DLPReport shared three photos of the structure coming together behind construction walls. Although the building isn’t complete, gaps in the scaffolding reveal freshly installed windows and several architectural supports. One project that’s going fast is, as usual, the Mc Donald’s Disney Village: pic.twitter.com/t9t6tXDQ0T— DLP Report (@DLPReport) September 29, 2025The new McDonald’s will open at Disney Village sometime in 2026, though an exact date has yet to be announced. Disneyland Paris Resort has already filed a construction permit to demolish the original, still-operating location.Should Disney bring McDonald’s menu items back into its theme parks?
