I was thinking exactly that as I was typing my comment. I read this African proverb in that 48 laws of power book, something like “when you see water flowing uphill, that means someone is paying back a kindness” insinuating that ppl you do favors (free services) for rarely appreciate it. That’s been my experience in that industry.
