Packing in an advanced processor and adaptive microphone system, the company’s latest model “combines premium sound with the best noise cancelling in a seamless design.”To give you a quick recap, Sony had ditched the foldable hinge in the WH-1000XM5, but the newly launched headphones now have a redesigned headband and a foldable metal hinge component. In terms of audio, the Sony WH-1000XM6 is powered by the QN3 processor and comes with a 12-mic array that improves both ANC and ambient sound. These microphones not only help cancel out noise, but also improve call quality by intelligently beamforming and isolating the noise around you.The company says its newest headphone uses AI-trained models to offer a more natural-sounding ambient passthrough and real-time upmixing for 360 Reality Audio. Sony also improved the Auto Ambient Sound mode, which allows the headphones to listen to things like announcements and conversations around you.Another change is that, unlike its predecessor, you can now toggle between listening modes and trigger voice commands without having to press any buttons. In terms of codecs, the Sony WH-1000XM6 supports SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3, but it still misses out on aptX or Snapdragon Sound.Talking of design, the Sony WH-1000XM6 comes with a redesigned headband infused with vegan leather, which the company says ensures a pressure-free fit and makes it easy to identify the right and left sides at a glance. Sony also introduced a new feature called Scene-based Listening, which automatically plays music depending on what activity you are doing and adjusts the noise cancellation levels accordingly.Available in Black, Platinum, Silver and Midnight Blue, the Sony WH1000XM6 can be purchased for Rs 39,990 from Amazon, Sony Center, select Croma and Reliance Outlets and Sony India’s official website.© IE Online Media Services Pvt LtdTags:headphonesSony
