On Monday, September 29, 2025, Richard Allen Adamsky, a former teacher and youth sports coach from Warminster, Pennsylvania, was arrested by FBI agents before his scheduled preliminary hearing on child sex abuse material (CSAM) related charges. The arrest occurred at the Bucks County District Court where his prelimary hearing was scheduled, leaving his defense attorney, Christopher Serpico, visibly shocked. Serpico expressed his surprise at the FBI’s intervention, stating that he was unaware of any new charges against his client. He noted that the federal charges appeared to mirror those previously filed by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. The case is now expected to transition to federal jurisdiction, with the Bucks County charges likely being withdrawn once Adamsky is indicted federally. The FBI has not disclosed the specific location where Adamsky is being held, and further details regarding the federal charges are pending, according to NBC Philadelphia. These charges stemmed from an investigation initiated by a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which led to a search warrant executed at Adamsky’s residence in June 2025. During the search, investigators discovered numerous explicit images on Adamsky’s electronic devices, some depicting girls in the same age group he had taught and coached. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia placed Adamsky on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, and emphasized its commitment to protecting children and cooperating with law enforcement. Adamsky had a longstanding connection with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia through his role at Nativity of Our Lord Parish School, a Catholic school. Employed there for over 30 years, Adamsky taught 8th grade and coached various youth sports teams, including football, basketball, softball, and track and field, both at the school and through affiliated programs such as Archbishop Wood High School and Lenape Middle School, among other youth sports programs. The Archdiocese emphasized that neither the school, parish, nor Archdiocese had any prior indication of alleged wrongdoing by Adamsky.
