26 who are Maltese citizens or hold Maltese residence permits have left Doha, Qatar, and flown to Berlin, Germany as part of an evacuation effort to assist Maltese nationals in the Gulf region.Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg confirmed that these individuals were evacuated with support from Maltese authorities to enable them to leave the area and arrive in a European country from where it will be easier for them to complete their journey back to Malta.This operation follows another evacuation conducted yesterday morning in which 162 Maltese men and women were brought out of the United Arab Emirates in a separate mission also coordinated by Maltese authorities.That effort was aimed at helping citizens who wished to leave the region return home safely amid ongoing instability in the Gulf.Share this with a friend•
