KISUMU, Kenya Apr 3 – Interior Principal Secretary has urged citizens to stay alert and act responsibly as the country heads into the Easter holiday season, a period typically marked by heavy travel and large social gatherings.In his message, Raymond Omollo noted that Easter is a time for reflection, renewal, and hope, encouraging Kenyans to embrace these values while also looking out for one another’s safety.He emphasised the importance of vigilance during the long weekend, particularly as schools remain closed and many families travel or host gatherings.Parents and guardians were advised to take extra care in ensuring children are safe and properly supervised throughout the holiday.Omollo also called on the public to work closely with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities and cooperating with law enforcement officers to help maintain order.Road safety was another major concern highlighted in his message.With increased movement expected across the country, he urged drivers, pedestrians, and all road users to remain cautious, disciplined, and patient to help prevent accidents.The Interior Ministry, he said, has put in place enhanced security measures, including deploying additional personnel to various parts of the country to ensure a safe environment for all.Reaffirming the government’s commitment to national stability and development, Omollo encouraged Kenyans to promote unity and peace during the celebrations and beyond.He wished all Kenyans a peaceful Easter, urging everyone to celebrate responsibly while keeping the safety and well-being of others in mind.
