Raced by Little Red Feather Racing, Sterling Stables and Marsha Naify, the three-year-old filly was bred Emir Alkas.A 40,000gns Tattersalls October Book 1 yearling, she failed to meet her reserve when passed in for 20,000 out of the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale. The daughter of Listed Prix Jacques de Bremond heroine Lbretha (Exceed And Excel) is a half-sister to a pair of colts by Ghaiyyath and Earthlight born in 2024 and 2025, respectively. She ran third for owner/trainer Cormac Farrell at Dundalk on debut, before switching to these connections. From the family of G1 Prix Saint-Alary second Article Rare (El Prado), Darya was making her third start and second for Phil D'Amato.Persian King, a resident of Haras d'Etreham, has sired four winners from five to race (80%) in the U.S. He stands for €15,000 this year. Overall he has sired four stakes winners worldwide, including G3 Prix de Psyche heroine Cankoura.City Girl Graduates In FloridaSuccessful twice in the French provinces, an ownership change saw City Girl (City Light) on top in a Tampa Bay affair on March 29 (video).A daughter of Nimpheas (Smart Strike), City Girl was bred by Herald Bloodstock, Veronique Dubois and Nicolas Baudron. Sent through the Arqana ring, she was a €17,000 buy-back out of the October Yearling Sale and failed to sell at €22,000 during the Arqana Summer Mixed Sale. The current Chad Brown trainee was placed at listed level in France for former owner/trainer Louis Baudron. Now owned by Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb and Michael Kisber, the bay is kin to group winners Soleil Marin (Kendargent) and Aomori City (Oasis Dream). The latter was placed in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf.Of City Light's six American runners, five have won (83%). The Haras d'Etreham resident stands for €10,000 in 2026.Parfois A Powerhouse In FloridaThe heroics of Parfois (Kodi Bear) at Tampa Bay have been well documented, with the three-year-old filly crowned a 'TDN Rising Star presented by Hagyard' on March 29 (video). The Michael Dubb, Steven Bouchey, Thirty Year Racing and Michael Caruso-owned runner is trained by Chad Brown. The next target for the talented Duncroi Farm-bred will be left up to Brown, but according to part-owner Michael Dubb, the GII Edgewood Stakes at Churchill Downs on May 1 is a possibility.Repeat WinnersVeteran Gold Phoenix ran out a winner of the GIII San Luis Rey Stakes at Santa Anita last month (video). The son of Belardo, a winner of the 2023 GI Frank E. Kilroe Mile, is trained by Phil D'Amato and owned by Agave Racing Stable, Little Red Feather Racing, Sterling Stables and Marsha Naify.Chad Brown and Klaravich Stables' Uncatalyzed (Kingman) returned a winner of a Tampa Bay contest in March (video). The four-year-old colt is now two-for-three in his short career.Recording his first black-type win was Immortalised (Romanised) in the Cutler Bay Stakes at Gulfstream on March 28 (video). Brendan Walsh trains the three-year-old colt for Starry Night Racing and Feld Family Racing.Portfolio Duration (Night Of Thunder) won for the second time in three starts when saluting at Tampa at the end of March (video).
