Ok, so your family growing up was very wealthy. It's easy to declare, "she was worth every penny, absolutely no debate." when you have more "pennies" than you know what to do with. I'm only pointing this out because your first comment describes the amount you paid her very nonchalant, as if it was a normal amount to pay a nanny in the 90s. It's just as insane as what's being proposed in the OP, just to the other extreme.
