Lucien Colon Credit: News 12 Long Island screenshotA police officer in New York City heroically took out a monstrous criminal earlier this week who had no business being on the streets to start with.As The New York Post reported, police attempted to take an armed r*pist and convicted murderer named Lucien Colon, who was out on an outstanding sex offender warrant, into custody on Thursday before he decided to wave his firearm at officers and boast “I have a gun!”He was convicted of r*pe back in 1997, but failed to meet his sex offender registry requirements. When this happened, an NYPD officer opened fire, shooting Colon in the head.More from the Post:Lucien Colon, 44, started wielding the firearm when members of the Bronx Warrant Squad showed up at his apartment in Mott Haven to nab him on an outstanding sex offender warrant, according to cops.Officers found the convicted sex pest sitting on a bed after being let into the apartment by a woman at about 6:45 a.m., the NYPD said. When he was asked to step out of the bedroom, a defiant Colon told cops: “It’s not going to happen.”He then blared “I have a gun” repeatedly as officers spent 90 seconds trying to talk him down and de-escalate the situation, police said.An officer ultimately opened fire, striking Colon once in the face, police said.Colon was rushed to Lincoln Hospital following the shooting, but it was far too late to save him.Watch the police briefing on the incident:In addition to r*pe, The Post notes that Colon has a long, violent rap sheet filled with unspeakable acts of violence. These include a 2013 murder and a 1998 robbery. Colon was freed from prison in 2023 on the murder charge. It’s unclear why he was released so early after committing murder, especially given his other violent offenses. The post FAFO: Gun-Waving R*pist and Convicted Murderer Shot Dead by Heroic NYC Police Officer appeared first on The Gateway Pundit.
