Under the Nazi regime, IG Farben manufactured the cyanide-based gas used in the Holocaust.Though IG Farben was dissolved after World War II, BASF was reestablished in 1952 and remained under Engelhorn family control until the mid-1990s, when it was sold for more than $4 billion.She inherited approximately $27 million from her grandmother in 2021.Engelhorn has accused Israel of “genocide, apartheid and illegal occupation,” and is actively involved in anti-Israel demonstrations.“We continue to fight to break this illegal siege and bring humanitarian aid to Gaza,” she said in a video posted by the Global Movement to Gaza Austria.The post featured her participation in an upcoming flotilla mission, saying she was “standing on the right side of history.”This new flotilla, called Handala, follows a previous attempt to breach Israel’s naval blockade, which was intercepted by the Israeli navy in July.The current vessel departed from Syracuse, Italy, carrying 18 volunteers, including doctors, lawyers and journalists.The coalition behind the effort claims their goal is to deliver aid and highlight the suffering in Gaza, which they blame on what they call an “illegal siege.”Among the activists is Jewish American Bob Suberi, who called the mission a success for drawing international attention. “We attempted to deliver humanitarian aid to hungry people trapped in violation of humanitarian law,” he said.The Israeli navy intercepted the Handala before reaching Gaza.The post Zyklon B heiress to set sail on next flotilla to Gaza appeared first on World Israel News.
