Police are investigating the disappearance of two schoolgirls — 13-year-old Aneeza Bangatt and 15-year-old Shavine Russell — who were last seen on Sunday, August 4, 2025, leaving their East Bank Demerara homes and entering a black Toyota 192 vehicle bearing registration number PJJ 1933.The girls, both students of Soesdyke Secondary School and residents of Supply, EBD, have not returned home since. A ‘Missing Person’ report was filed with the police later that evening at 7:36 pm.According to the information provided to police, Aneeza and Shavine left home around 10:30 am for an undisclosed location. Their families say they do not know where the girls were headed or who arranged transportation.Both girls are described as slim-built, standing at approximately 4 feet 7 inches tall, with shoulder-length hair and a brown complexion. They are known to be close friends, having attended the same school.Images of the two teens and a male individual who was reportedly last seen in their company have been circulated by law enforcement as part of the investigation.The Guyana Police Force is appealing to the public for any information that could help locate the missing girls. Anyone who has seen them or the individual in the photos is urged to contact the nearest police station or reach out directly to Regional Police Division 4B Commander, Superintendent Wayne DeHeart on telephone number 661-4716.The families of the missing girls are pleading for their safe return.
