Call of Duty is eventually coming to Switch, and while we wait, another game with a similar name and a totally different setup, Cats on Duty, is out now on Nintendo's console.Publisher ESDigital Games has announced that Prikol Team's Cats on Duty is available now for Switch. It launched at the end of June for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.The game, which combines elements of RTS, tower defense, and match-three, puts teams of "battle-hardened felines" against zombies. Players have to defend their side and match tiles to gain upgrades."Prepare for epic cat fights, playful antics, and adorable meows as your feline warriors show off their unique personalities and unleash their special abilities. Brace yourself for a blend of sass and strategy that will keep you entertained throughout the battles," reads a line from the game's description.The developers said Cats on Duty is inspired by games like Plants vs. Zombies and Tower Swap.As for Call of Duty on Switch, Activision has confirmed that it remains intent on bringing the series to Nintendo's console, but there is no word yet on when that may happen. We don't know if both Switch and Switch 2 would be supported.In 2023, amid the FTC vs. Microsoft court case, Microsoft said it had signed a "binding 10-year legal agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo players." The statement said Microsoft would launch Call of Duty on Nintendo platforms "the same day as Xbox, with full features and content parity."Activision has skipped Nintendo platforms for Call of Duty for more than a decade, as the last CoD release on a Nintendo platform was a port of Call of Duty: Ghosts for Wii U in 2013. Call of Duty has a long, strange history on Nintendo platforms, and this is just the latest chapter in that story.
