Screencap of Twitter/X video. There was a Senate confirmation hearing today for Trump’s nominee for surgeon general, Dr. Casey Means.During the course of the hearing, GOP Senator Markwayne Mullin on Oklahoma laid out the facts about Obamacare and the rising costs of healthcare. At one point, far-left crank Bernie Sanders decided to rudely interject. It was the wrong decision.Senator Mullin shut Bernie down not once, but twice. It was a thing of beauty.RedState has details:Following Bernie’s questioning of Means, Mullin began his allotted time by noting the former presidential candidate’s love of the Affordable Care Act, which he correctly reclassified as “unaffordable.”“No, I support a national healthcare program which would cut the —” Sanders said before Mullin countered: “I’m sorry, it’s my time.”“You’re going to attack me, I’m going to respond,” Sanders insisted.“Nah, I’m pointing out facts!” Mullin continued. “You can say what you want, I’m just pointing out facts.”Mullin continued on with his comments before pivoting to asking questions for the Surgeon General nominee.“I ranted too long,” Mullin paused.“Yes, you did!” Sanders shouted…“I’m sorry. I didn’t ask your opinion on that. And if I cared about your opinion, I would ask you, but I don’t care about your opinion. You’re part of the system. You’re part of the problem. You’ve been sitting here longer than I’ve even been alive,” Mullin fired back.“This is your problem. You should have fixed this a long time ago,” he said of the woefully broken health care system. “You’ve been … on it so long, what have you been doing?”Watch the whole video below, this is great:MULLIN: “ACA is unaffordable.”BERNIE SANDERS: “You’re attacking me.”MULLIN: “If I cared about your opinion, I would ask you, but I don’t—you’re part of the problem—because you’ve been sitting here longer than I’ve even been alive!” pic.twitter.com/Ug6ogSwYPr— Markwayne Mullin (@SenMullin) February 25, 2026 Bernie Sanders IS part of the problem and this does not get said out loud nearly often enough.Like so many other members of the Senate, Bernie is way past retirement age but simply refuses to go away. On the contrary, he continues to wield undue influence over the Democrat Party, which he isn’t even a member of.Kudos to Senator Mullin for calling him out. More Republicans should consider doing the same once in a while. The post Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin Shuts Down Bernie Sanders at Confirmation Hearing: ‘You’re Part of the Problem’ (VIDEO) appeared first on The Gateway Pundit.
